Chief Executive – Databasix
I am a Chief Executive and passionate about data, how it is collected, stored and managed. With 20 years of experience working with a range of personal data, including health data in the NHS, I am constantly looking at how data can be used to drive change that benefits the people of the UK and beyond.
I enjoy delivering training that demonstrates the benefits of effective and efficient data collection with broad groups of stakeholders, ensuring that they are involved at all stages of the process, enabling the delivery of the most creative and meaningful ways to unlock the value of the data collected. I believe strongly that data should be high quality irrespective of the size of the dataset in order to inform robust data-driven decision-making.
Prior to founding Databasix UK Ltd, I was Head of Data Projects at Public Health England. I led the development and implementation of the Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) dataset in England from the pilot stage in 2010, until March 2015. The project is recognised by many across the health sector, industry and 3rd sector as a great success and a model for future implementation. I hold a BA(Hons) in Business Information Technology & Marketing, an MBA, a certificate in Health Information Governance and is a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner.
Q. What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done?
A. I have abseiled down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth and completed a firewalk for SeeSaw (Oxfordshire based charity). Both somewhat terrifying, but also amazing.
Q. What makes you laugh?
A. Jack Whitehall and Michael McIntyre makes me laugh out loud.
