Time Management Skills

At first glance Time Management training is often seen as something that it is not required as it is already understood.  However, delegates soon realise how much time they are wasting through lack of planning and using key tools. So, our objective is to improve individual and team productivity through better use of time.

Did you know:

  • 82% of people don’t have a proper time management system at work;
  • 49% of people have never audited their time use at work;
  • 1 in 8 people (12.5%) never feel under control at work.

When it comes to time management, we must be disciplined but most of us work on the wrong basis, taking a short-term view rather than the longer term and trying to control 100% of our time.

“It is not enough to be busy… The question is; what are we busy about?”  Henry David Thoreau

Good Time Management

What is good time management? Our training covers all of the following aspects but the delivery of the materials is tailored to your specific needs.

  • The benefits of excellent time management
  • What steals our time and how we can manage these issues
  • The Eisenhower Matrix for time management and how it can be effectively applied
  • Maximising time usage, allowing for the unknown

Our Motto:  ‘We might not know exactly what is coming in the day or week ahead, but we can still plan for it.’

Our Training

The problem many individuals have, with transferring learning from a time management programme to their day-to-day activities, is that they struggle to see how the learning relates. For this reason, we like to use real life examples within the sessions; real life examples that are brought by the participants. Therefore, by the time they leave our training, they have already applied their learning in the workplace.

Within the sessions we help participants to:

  • Identify what good time management looks like
  • Develop techniques to overcome recurring issues that steal their time
  • Consider various time management techniques, how they work and how they can apply them for themselves

Sessions can be online or face-to-face. We believe that training is most effective when it matches the organisation’s style and aspirations and is interactive.

Takeaways

Participants are encouraged to apply their learning as soon as they return to their workplace and review progress regularly.  So, to help them apply recently learnt principles they will have:

  • A definition of what good looks like and, therefore, a target to aim for
  • A series of techniques they can use to minimise or remove diversions
  • A range of time management techniques that can be used either separately or in conjunction with each other, to maximise their time.
